SSC (10+2 / DEO) Eligibility Details

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination is conducted for recruitment to the posts of Data Entry Operator (DEO), Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA) and Sorting Assistant (SA) in various Central Government departments.

Nationality

• A citizen of India.
• A subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 Years.
• Maximum Age: 27 Years.
• Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules.

Educational Qualification

• Passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) examination from a recognized Board or University.
• Candidates appearing in Class 12 can apply as per SSC notification.

**Duration:** 60 Minutes (80 Minutes for eligible PwD candidates). Questions are objective type and available in both English and Hindi.

• Descriptive Paper (Essay / Letter Writing).
• Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) for DEO posts.
• Typing Test for LDC / JSA / Postal Assistant posts.
