National Defence Academy (NDA)
NDA Eligibility Details
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination twice every year for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of the National Defence Academy.
Age Limit
- Only unmarried candidates within the age limit prescribed in the UPSC notification are eligible.
- Candidates must satisfy the birth date criteria mentioned in the official UPSC notification.
Marital Status
- Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for the NDA examination.
Educational Qualification
- Army Wing: Passed 10+2 (Class 12) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
- Air Force & Naval Wings: Passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized Board or University.
- Candidates appearing in Class 12 are also eligible to apply provisionally.

Eligible candidates can apply online through the UPSC NDA & NA examination notification issued twice every year.
NDA Exam Pattern
The UPSC NDA & NA Examination consists of two stages – Written Examination and SSB Interview.
Written Examination

Important Points
- All questions are Objective Type.
- Mathematics and General Ability Test papers are available in both English and Hindi.
- Calculators and logarithmic tables are not allowed in the examination.
- UPSC decides the qualifying marks for each paper.
